Ad: derivative of “add” but writer too stupid to include other “d.”

Hoc: derivative of “hockey” but writer too lazy bother finishing.

Hyphen: weird little dash that helps both reconcile differences (often mistaken for “minus”)

Alone they are misfits.

Together they are perfect.
